Last updated: 16 de marzo de 2026

This privacy policy describes how Lumina collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our entrance exam preparation platform. Lumina ("we," "us," or "our") is the data controller responsible for your data. By using the service, you agree to the practices described below.

01

What data we collect

We collect: (1) Account data: name, email address, and password (stored in a secure, hashed form) when you register. (2) Usage data: exams you take (including answers and timing), attempt history, progress by subject, use of the AI tutor and AI coach (including conversation content to provide and improve the service), flashcards you create and review sessions, your preferred language and education level, and custom exams you build. (3) Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, device information, and logs of access and errors. We use this to operate the platform (e.g. timed exams, question bank, IRT estimates, analytics), personalize your experience (e.g. coach recommendations), and improve our systems.

02

How we use your data

We use your data to: provide and operate the service (exams, tutor, coach, flashcards, question variations, explanations, analytics); personalize your experience (e.g. exam recommendations, study guidance); improve our AI models and product; perform internal analytics and research (in aggregated or anonymized form where possible); ensure security, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

04

Data sharing

We may share your data with service providers (e.g. hosting, AI APIs) that assist us in operating the platform, under contracts that require them to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

05

International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your country of residence, including where our service providers operate. Where we transfer data outside your jurisdiction, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection (e.g. standard contractual clauses or other mechanisms recognized by applicable law).

06

Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal, security, or legitimate business reasons. You may request export or deletion of your data as described under "Your rights."

07

Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including restricted access, encryption where appropriate, and secure storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we work to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

08

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; request deletion; request a copy of your data (portability); object to or restrict certain processing; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You can manage much of your profile and account information from the Lumina platform. To exercise other rights or for any privacy-related request, contact us using the details in "Contact" below. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

09

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (e.g. local storage) for session management, preferences (e.g. language), and to understand how the platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect the functionality of the service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

10

Children's privacy

Lumina is designed to support students preparing for university entrance exams. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, we recommend that you use the service with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without such consent. If you believe we have collected data from a child without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

11

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on the platform and/or by email or in-product notice. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Your continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
